Farrington’s was established in 1921 in Toorak, Melbourne, by the current proprietor’s great-uncle. The business sold fine antiques and fine porcelain for many years, eventually becoming an auction house with a reputation for selling the very finest of furniture, carpets and porcelain.

Unfortunately, Edward Farrington remained unmarried and had no children. His tragic death due to a Steinway grand piano falling on him and killing him instantly, saw the business close in the early 1960s. The remaining family members lived in Western Australia and were unwilling to make the move to Victoria.

Today the new Farrington’s hopes to capture a little of its predecessor’s reputation for quality and excellent service that Mr Farrington was renowned for.

We welcome you to Farrington’s of Albany, and hope to meet you in the very near future.
